The awesome construction crew has started work on the inside of the building. The progress has been exciting, with the building becoming more like a school every day!
Thank you to all of the families that showed up last night. Dr. Tiarks (Elementary Principal) led a packed and energetic MSA Town Hall meeting. We can feel the excitement as we gear up for our elementary program!!!

Math and Science Academy's Middle School was just named the 2026 Best Public Middle School in the state of Minnesota. The high school wasn't too far behind, as it was ranked #2 in the state. Congrats to MSA students, families, and staff on this wonderful accomplishment!
Nothing is more "real world" then having one of the largest franchisor of Jersey Mike's in Minnesota visit our Entrepreneurship students. Shout out to Ms. Duce for putting this visit together, and to our Dragons for taking advantage of this awesome opportunity.
Every space is a learning space. Physics students used the Gym to conduct a lab exploring different motions that included walking, skipping, hopping, and freestyle. It was a great learning activity to connect speed, distance, and time in a real world setting. Great job Mr. Cava and students!
More than math and science. Mx. Lynn's art class was spotted working on their coffee mugs. Each student's mug had to be slab built, include a handle, and a sculptural element incorporated into the design. Great job Dragons!!!
A huge shout out to our MSA Dragons who were named National Merit Semifinalists. This is a highly competitive and prestigious accomplishment. Students qualify by achieving a high score (top 1%) on the PSAT, demonstrating a consistently high academic record, and submission of a written essay, among other rigorous criteria. Way to represent!!!
Can you believe it Dragons? We've completed two weeks of school already. Great things are happening in the classroom, case in point, Ms. Borrell's health class. Students were asked to use their knowledge of physical activity and heart rate to evaluate their fitness levels in 4 types of exercises: endurance, strength, flexibility, and balance. Students assessed themselves at each of the 4 stations, and reflected on their results.
Yesterday was the first day of school for 6th and 9th graders at MSA. Ms. Neisse and the WEB (Where Everybody Belongs) leaders did an awesome job with the Class of 2032. Our 9th graders had the opportunity to enjoy the campus all to themselves.
Our New-to-MSA teachers are already on campus and have started preparing for our students' return. We spent the last two days catching them up on the MSA way. We're excited to have them on the team and we can't wait to see them in action.

As many students and teachers are enjoying their summer break, Ms. Meleck, Ms. Brunshidle, and a group of MSA students visited Belize. There, they learned about the ecosystem of Belize and Belizean culture. Looks like the students had a great time there, way to represent MSA!!!

Summer break is only a couple of weeks old, but MSA staff is already back at it. A select group of teacher leaders attended the PLC Institute last week, learning about effective strategies that will ensure learning for all students. Thank you for dedication to all of our MSA students!!!
