2009-2010 MSA Technology Drive

The MSA Board of Directors made several adjustments and cuts to balance the 2009-2010 operating budget. Among them was eliminating the technology budget. This money is used to pay for software, servers, laptop computers, hardware maintenance, etc.

As you are aware, computers have permeated all aspects of lives and the education system is no different. Laptop computers are used in the classroom for such diverse things as internet searches, writing papers, research, using interactive learning sites on the internet, teaching web design and computer programming, using geometry software, music labs, and much more.

Typically, MSA would replace some of the old computers with new ones on a rotating basis. This year the plan was to purchase 16 laptop computers.

We're asking for your help this year. Although the technology money has gone away, the need for new computers has not. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to make up for this year's budget gap.

As a guideline, if each family were to give an average of $250.00, we can meet this technology drive goal. We understand that this may not be an option for everyone and ask that you contribute as much or as little as works for your family. This money will go directly towards the technology budget and will be used specifically for the purchase of the laptops and security cart.

Check to see if your employer has a corporate matching gifts program to make your donation even more effective. Also, consider passing this information along to friends and family for their support.

If possible, please make your donation by June 30th. This will allow enough time to purchase and set-up the computers for the 09-10 school year.
